Project RMU Minimum Requirements

  • Monitor DC Voltage being output to ground bed
  • Monitor DC Amperage output - mV across the shunt
  • Monitor P/S Potential - pipe-to-soil potential for ref. Cell
  • Monitor Various Alarms - AC Fail, Intrusion, etc.
  • Interrupt any number of rectifiers at various sequences
    • Accept programmed start / stop dates & times
    • Variable interruption timing cycles
  • GPS timing for synchronized interruption
    • Resolution within 5 ms
  • Remote relay control for interrupt rectifiers
    • Includes programmable delays for different relay types
  • Record & Store "Instant Off" readings
    • Reading taking at an established time after rectifier off
  • Communicate to existing Valmet SCADA via ModbusRTU
    • Support various communications Data Radio, VSAT, Phone Line, Cell Phone

Project Challenges

  • Integrate precise timing and synchronization
    • Utilize precision GPS smart antenna
    • Antenna synchronized to UTC within 50 nanoseconds
  • CRemote
  • Integrate system into existing SCADA infrastructure
    • Provided ModbusRTU (Daniel/Enron/Omni - version)
    • Utilized preferred site communications - radio, vsat, cell, leased line
